1176-Piece Johnny 5 Robot Building Blocks Set with Remote Control
If you grew up loving Short Circuit, the Johnny 5 Robot Building Blocks Set is a nostalgic dream come true for your home. I spent the weekend assembling these 1176 pieces to see if this 2026 release could handle both the building process and active play.
Performance & Build Quality
The plastic bricks snap together with satisfying precision, resulting in a surprisingly sturdy robot frame. Its rechargeable battery system is a massive upgrade over traditional disposable cells, keeping the remote-controlled movement snappy and reliable during long sessions.
Day-to-Day Experience
The assembly requires some patience, but the instructions are clear enough for older kids and adults to follow without frustration. Once complete, the remote control interface is intuitive, allowing for smooth navigation that makes this model more than just a shelf ornament.
This kit is perfect for sci-fi fans and building enthusiasts looking for a challenging project that results in an interactive, animated display piece.
Final Thoughts
With an impressive 4.83/5 rating, this robot set earns its place in any collection. It provides exceptional value for $99.00, serving as both a rewarding puzzle and a fun remote-controlled companion.
